Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation
Drug rehabilitation successThere are key elements to the rehabilitation process that contribute to the overall effectiveness of any successful treatment center.

The Drug Free Hotline recommends long term drug free programs that address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction. There is also the notion of becoming responsible for one's own condition, rather than blaming it on other circumstances, like their brain or genetics. All of us have the ability to heal and be in control and an effective rehabilitation program will help someone to be able to do that. Addicts are not powerless or hopeless, they just need the right methods of dealing with the problem specific to their situation.

We can help you find a successful long term drug rehab that is affordable!

Why do we promote drug free programs? Due to the inherent nature of human beings and addiction itself, it is technically impossible for someone to become literaly drug free while taking replacement drugs or medications. Full rehabilitation from addiction means that all areas of life are addressed so that no drugs at all are needed to treat leftover symptoms. Programs that rely heavily on replacement drugs and rehabilitation by definition are not rehabilitating people - they are treating the symptoms of their addiction.

How do you handle physical cravings? A unique component of many successful rehabilitation centers is a biophysical body cleansing process that combines exercise, vitamins and natural supplemens along with sauna therapy. The theory and application behind this is that the body soaks up and stores drug residues in its tissue and over time can become very toxic from these residues alone, which can have a long term negative impact if not dealt with.

What about counseling or psychotherapy? It is important for every person to have an outlet of being able to communicate, which is the general idea behind psychotherapy - having someone who listens. However, rather than a person just listening or just telling, counselors who use educational materials to help the individuals find there own solutions (cognative behavioral therapy) has been shown to be more effective than traditional counseling methods alone.

What about aftercare? There is no set standard or rule for follow-up and aftercare. Many people go to "90 meetings in 90 days" after completing treatment, but that is only one way to do it. We recommend a more individualized aftercare set-up that should be involved in the discharge planning process. Not everyone needs to do the same thing to stay sober and be happy. If it were that simple then there would be a patent on it. There are general planning guidelines that can be followed to tailor and individual long term recovery plan after the initial rehabilitation is complete.
